The 2011 Survey: "Well, have you stopped drinking blood?"

We'd like to learn your thoughts on holding a fkficfest game in 2011!  Is that a good idea, or should we wait for the twentieth anniversary of "Dark Knight" in 2012?  If we hold a game in 2011, what are the best schedules and styles?  Our goal is to encourage more great Forever Knight fanfiction writing and reading.

These poll questions are intended for community members only.  (FK fans are welcome to join the community at any time.)  This poll will close on January 31, 2011, Pacific Time.  For information on this FK fanfiction game community, please see our profile or past admin posts.  (Final game decisions remain up to the moderators regardless of poll results.)  Please feel free to expand on your opinions and suggestions in comments.

Thank you!

FKFicFest is currently on LiveJournal only. Should it also be on Dreamwidth?

Yes, and that’s the only way I’ll play.

What’s “Dreamwidth”?

In our first FKFicFest game, we played “exchange style.” On FKFic-L, games were usually “challenge style,” in which all writers address the same generic prompts, but pick their own characters and angles. We could play FKFicFest like that, with one master slate of three prompts from which to choose, and get to see how different factions approach the same prompts. Which style would you prefer for a 2011 game?

I will play only if it’s an exchange.
0(0.0%)
I prefer exchanges, but I’m willing to play a challenge.
7(53.8%)
I have no preference.

Separate from the event of a major game, how likely would you be to write in a “commentfic fest”? That would be a short-duration game with prompts and very small stories that fit in a single comment on LiveJournal.

I’d definitely write.
1(9.1%)
I’d probably write.
7(63.6%)
I probably wouldn’t write.
3(27.3%)
I definitely wouldn’t write.

Do you think that holding a separate “commentfic fest” is a good idea for this forum? (As a reminder, other communities exist for fanfiction in FK specifically and canceled-vampire-shows in general. We do not intend to step on any toes!)

Yes, it would be fun and build enthusiasm here.
7(70.0%)
No, it would detract and distract from the main game here.
